After the panel I went up to Craig and said “I want to make movies. Where can I get information I need?” Craig told me to buy three books: The Barebones Camera Guide, The Writer's Journey and Rebel Without a Crew. I bought the books the next day and moved to Los Angeles a few months later. The books sat on my shelf for years. In 2004, I read The Writer's Journey and immediately started writing comedy and making short films. In 2007, I read Rebel Without a Crew, and I've been making movies non-stop ever since. That year, I opened 6-8-10 Productions and began work on my feature documentary My McDiet. Since then, 6-8-10 has expanded into creating everything from acting reels to music videos. In 2010, 6-8-10 partnered with Nashville-based Grassroots Promotion for the exclusive representative for music videos produced by 6-8-10. I approach each project – be it a one-minute video blog or a two hour feature – with the same passion and dedication. The name 6-8-10 comes from my various dress sizes over the years. It serves as a reminder that dreams come in all shapes and sizes. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . In 2001, I was working in Nashville and attended my first film festival. I went to a panel that included filmmakers Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow, Black Snake Moan) and D.A. Pennebaker (Town Bloody Hall, The War Room). As I listened, it seemed they were sharing the secret to life and the key to my happiness.
